Planning Your Launch Day

There are a number of things you should consider leading up to your App Launch Day. We've compiled an extensive list below, please review and verify anything relevant to your app/business;

  • Content Accuracy: Verify that all text, images, and videos are correct, up-to-date, and relevant to the appโ€™s functionality.

  • Push Notifications: Ensure notifications are working correctly and provide real value without overwhelming the user.

  • App Store Optimization (ASO):

    • Write a compelling app title and description optimized for keywords.

      • Short Description - max of 80 characters.

      • Long Description - max of 4000 characters.

    • Create high-quality app screenshots and a promo video if applicable.

    • Choose appropriate categories and tags for better discoverability.

  • App Icons: Ensure the app icon is clear, attractive, and consistent across different app stores and platforms.

  • App Reviews and Ratings: Consider strategies for encouraging positive reviews and ratings from your early users.

  • Marketing & Promotion (See more below)

    • Launch Announcement: Have a plan to announce the launch via social media, email campaigns, press releases, or influencer partnerships.

    • App Website or Landing Page: Create a website or landing page with information about the app, links to download, and support documentation.

    • Pre-launch Buzz: Generate excitement by offering sneak peeks or demo videos,

  • Tracking Integration: Ensure your app has proper analytics integration (e.g., Google Analytics, Firebase) to track user behavior, acquisition sources, and key metrics.

  • Conversion Goals: Set up and test tracking for key actions like sign-ups, purchases, or other conversions.

  • Bug Reporting System: Have a system in place for end users to report bugs or issues, and ensure that the Reactiv Team is informed via the Reactiv Support Chat or by emailing [email protected]

By following this checklist, you can ensure your app is ready for a successful launch! ๐Ÿš€

App Launch Promotion Strategies

Countdown on Website

A countdown banner on your website can be used to help build anticipation for your app launch. This countdown could in the form of a hero banner or an announcement bar.

Email Blast

Make use of your preferred email campaign platform and plan an engaging blast that includes app details, value adds, in-app exclusives and images/videos of the app in action.

SMS Blast

Similar to the above, if you have an SMS mailing list, utilize that to promote the launch of your app. We would recommend either planning separate SMS blasts for iOS and Android users using 2 different links to the apps or making use of the OneLink.

Social Media Blast

If you have an active social media present, it would be beneficial to use it to promote your app launch. Some suggestions may be; an Instagram post, an Instagram story, a LinkedIn release, a post on X, etc.

Longer Term Promotion Strategies

Website Banner

Adding a permanent banner to your site will help to continuously drive traffic to the app. We would recommend embedding a OneLink into the banner to direct your customers to the App Store or Play Store.

Social Media Strategies

  • LinkedIn

    • Beyond the initial launch release on LinkedIn, we would suggest keeping your users informed via the founders profile

    • Ongoing posts could include; new app feature releases, upcoming features and app-exclusive drops

  • Instagram

    • Highlighted Story with App Updates/Promotions

      • Having a highlighted story on your company Instagram Page allows you to save various stories related to the app that don't quite make sense for an Instagram post. These stories might include, user reviews, UGC, demo videos of the app in action, FAQs on how to navigate/use the app

    • Weekly Story with OneLink embedded

      • We suggest having a cadence set up (perhaps weekly) to post an Instagram Story with the OneLink embedded to continue to drive traffic

  • X

    • If you have a following on X, ongoing posts about the app, limited time drops or in app exclusives would be great to shoutout here

Email Banner

We suggest a permanent footer or banner on your email campaigns using the OneLink embedded. Once again, this is used to drive traffic to your app. Email subscribers are some of your most loyal customers and we want to ensure they are well aware of the app's presence.

What is a OneLink?

With onelink.to you get one short link or QR code to your app no matter if it's on Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

Navigate to https://www.onelink.to/ and sign up for the Free Plan. This will allow you to create 3 free OneLinks that can be used for all promotion touch points.

In addition to driving traffic to your app via the OneLink, the click through rate will be available to the account owner for reporting purposes.
