  6. In the left-hand configuration menu, scroll down to App Tracking Transparency.

You’ll now be able to customize the copy, button, and background image for this screen.

What Is the App Tracking Transparency Screen?

This screen appears early in the customer onboarding journey and asks users for permission to track their activity across your app and website. It helps build trust by explaining how data is used, and is key to enabling deeper personalization and marketing performance.

Key Elements:

  • Toggle switch to enable or disable the screen

  • Title input for the main message

  • Description editor with formatting and emoji support

  • Button label for the action prompt (e.g., “Continue”)

  • Background image upload for visual customization

How to Set It Up

  1. Enable the screen by toggling the App Tracking Transparency switch.

  2. Add a title:
This is the main heading of the screen. Keep it short and clear.
Example: “Allow us to use your app and website activity?”

  3. Write a description:
Use this space to explain why you're asking for permission. Reassure users that their data is safe and in their control.
Example: “To provide you with personalized content and special offers, we need permission to use your activity. Your data stays secure, and you're always in control.”

    • You can adjust text size, apply bold/italic styles, and inject icons.

  4. Customize the button label:
This is the text users tap to proceed.
    Example: “Continue”

  5. Set the background:
Choose how the screen appears visually:

    • None: No background

    • Splash Image: Uses your existing splash design

    • Add Image: Upload a custom image (Recommended dimensions: 100 × 400 px, max size: 4MB)

Best Practices for Transparency Screens

🔒 Be clear and upfront

Let users know exactly why you're asking for permission—transparency builds trust.

Keep it positive

Emphasize benefits like personalization and special offers instead of focusing on tracking.

🖼️ Use a branded background

Upload an image that reflects your brand’s tone while keeping text legible over it.

📱 Preview before publishing

Use the phone preview panel to make sure your content fits nicely and is easy to read.
