In this guide, you’ll learn how to configure push notifications for your Reactiv Clips that appear on product detail pages (PDP) and product listing pages (PLP). These notifications help re-engage shoppers based on their behaviour, such as viewing a product or collection without taking action.

Go to the Notifications Tab

  1. Log in to your Shopify admin dashboard.

  2. In the left-hand sidebar, scroll to the Sales Channels section.

  3. Click Reactiv – Mobile App Builder, then select App Studio.

  4. Click your company logo at the top of the page and select App Settings.

  5. From the top menu, click Notifications.

  6. This brings you to the Manage notifications page, where you can create and customize behaviour-based notifications for your Reactiv Clips.

⚠️ Note: Notifications only apply to Reactiv Clips.

Overview of Notification Types

The Notifications page includes several behavior-based triggers, each with its own configuration box:

  • Collection Notifications:

    • Resume Browsing: Triggered when a shopper views a collection but does not click into any products.

  • Product Notifications:

    • Resume Shopping: Triggered when a shopper views a product but does not add it to the cart.

    • Conversion: Triggered when a product is added to the cart but not purchased.

    • App Download: Triggered after a purchase is completed to prompt the user to download your app.

Each type allows you to configure up to four timed push notifications to re-engage customers based on where they left off.

Setting Up Collection Notifications

  • Under Collection Notifications, locate the Resume Browsing panel.

  • Add up to four touch points—these are timed messages that re-engage users.

  • Use the Create notification + button to manually write a message, or click Use AI to generate message suggestions automatically.

  • Each message can have a unique delay time (e.g., 15 min after event).

  • Use the toggle switch in the upper-right corner to enable or disable this notification.

Example: “See something you like? 😍” at 15 min after the collection was viewed.

Setting Up Product Notifications

There are three product-based triggers:

1. Resume Shopping

  • Triggered when a shopper views a product but doesn’t add it to the cart.

  • You can add up to four touch points.

  • Examples of notification messages include:

    • “Ready to meet? 🤝” — 15 min

    • “Don’t miss out on [event]! ⏳” — 2 hrs

    • “[product] awaits! 💡” — 5 hrs

    • “Time for action! ⚡” — 7 hrs

2. Conversion

  • Triggered when a product is added to cart but not purchased.

  • Same structure: up to four touch points with individual delays.

  • Uses similar message templates to Resume Shopping.

3. App Download

  • Triggered post-purchase, encouraging users to download your app.

  • Sample messages include:

    • “Ready to book? 🗓️” — 15 min

    • “Maximize your time ⏱️” — 2 hrs

    • “Streamline your schedule 📲” — 5 hrs

Best Practices for PDP/PLP Notifications

To maximize engagement and conversions from your Reactiv Clips notifications, keep these tips in mind:

✍️ Keep messages short and scannable

  • Use clear, concise language that gets to the point quickly.

  • Avoid long paragraphs—push notifications should be easy to read at a glance.

🧠 Align messages with shopper intent

  • Use Resume Shopping notifications to remind users of what they viewed but didn’t act on.

  • Use Conversion messages to create urgency after cart abandonment.

  • Use App Download reminders to drive post-purchase engagement.

🕒 Stagger your timing

  • Use multiple touch points with increasing delay times (e.g., 15 min → 2 hrs → 5 hrs → 7 hrs).

  • This keeps your brand top-of-mind without overwhelming the shopper.

😀 Add personality (and emojis!)

  • Emojis help messages stand out and add a friendly, human touch.

  • Match the tone of your brand—fun, helpful, bold, or reassuring.

✨ Customize for clarity

  • When using the AI generator, give it simple prompts to match your brand tone (e.g., “Make it sound luxury,” or “Add a playful vibe”).

  • Edit generated messages as needed to make them feel more authentic to your store.

✅ Monitor and refine

  • Track notification performance (e.g., clicks, conversions) to see what works.

  • Update message timing or copy based on results and seasonal changes.
