Setting Up Facebook Conversion Integration

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for setting up a dataset and generating an access token in Meta Business Manager. This process is essential for integrating with the Facebook Conversion API.

Step 1: Access Meta Business Manager

  1. From the left-side navigation menu, select your Business Portfolio from the drop down.

Step 2: Create an Application

  1. In the left-side menu, click Settings.

  2. Under Settings, navigate to Accounts > Apps.

  3. In the top-right corner of the screen, click the + Add button.

  4. In the What do you want to do modal window:

    • Click Create a new app ID.

  5. On the Create an app screen:

    • Enter an App Name.

    • Enter your contact email address

    • Click Next

  6. On the Add use cases screen:

    • Select Run Ads to promote your app.

    • Enter your contact email address

    • Click Next

  7. On the Which business portfolio do you want to connect to this app? screen:

    • Select Your desired business portfolio to which the app will be associated.

    • Click Next

  8. Go to Dashboard

Step 3: Create a Dataset

  1. Return to Business Manger Home

    1. Select Events Manager From the left side navigation

    2. Select your newly created application from the on screen list of applications.

  2. Select settings from the top menu

  3. In the linking section of the settings page, select link

  4. In the introducing datasets modal window, select next

  5. In the Create the Dataset modal window, select Create new

  6. In the Confirm dataset creation, modal window accept the terms and click Create

Step 4. Generate Credentials

  1. From Ads Manager, navigate to the Events Manager

    1. Select Datasets

    2. Select Your newly created dataset it will have the same name as your application

  2. Select the Settings tab from the top menu

  3. Scroll to the Set up direct integration section of the page

    1. Select Set up with Dataset Quality API

    2. Click Generate Access Token

    3. Select your Dataset in the Select dataset dropdown

    4. Click Generate access token

    5. Copy the Access Token and store securely

  4. Scroll to the top of the page

    1. Copy the Dataset ID and store securely
