Migrating to Customer Accounts in Your Shopify Store

Migrating from Shopify Legacy Accounts to Customer Accounts

Shopify is moving away from Legacy Customer Accounts, and upgrading to New Customer Accounts to ensure a better experience for your customers. Follow these steps to migrate and integrate Reactiv with the new system.

Prerequisites

  • You need to be logged into your Shopify Admin with the necessary permissions to manage customer accounts.

  1. In your Shopify Admin, go to Settings > Customer accounts.

  2. Select Customer accounts (Recommended).

Step 2: Install a Headless App

  1. In your Shopify Admin, go to Settings > Apps and sales channels.

  2. Click Add app and install the Headless App for your Shopify store.

Step 3: Generate Client ID and Authorization Endpoints

  1. In the Headless App you installed in Step 2, navigate to Settings > Customer Accounts, then click Manage under Customer Accounts API.

  1. Shopify will generate the following credentials:

Step 4: Configure Client Type and Callback URI

  1. Under Client type, select Public (mobile app).

  2. Shopify will generate a Callback URI:
    shop.82986631467.app://callback

  3. Copy and save this URI for later use.

Step 5: Save Your Configuration

  1. Click Save to apply your changes.

  2. Your store is now configured with Customer Accounts and ready for headless authentication.

Step 6: Add Client ID and Callback URI to Reactiv

  1. In your Reactiv Dashboard, navigate to Account Settings > Customer.

  2. Locate the fields for Client ID and Callback URI.

  3. Enter the Client ID and Callback URI you obtained in Step 3 and Step 4.

  4. Click Save to finalize the setup.

Once this is done, Reactiv will be fully connected to Shopify's Customer Accounts.
